Just today I updated WordPress to version 3.3 in italiano, and I must say that the WordPress team has committed to considerably improve its’Usability. First thing after the upgrade is automatically redirected to a landing page that explains the changes and the usual changes to the user.
First were reduced the clicks in the left menu. If before it was necessary to click on an item to open the drop down menu containing the submenu, Now you can see the submenu Hover. A great time saver for those who are forced to always do the same actions in a repetitive. In the top bar now appeared on the left some magical voices including “+ fresh” to add a new content, to administer an icon Comments and “Clear the cache“. Today we see up close one of the most automatisms that I have made my life easier on the web. Many of us know the “Language Tools” offered by Google, but not everyone knows that it is possible integrate the buttons “flag” within your site to make a machine translation, snapshot of all the content without changing the address in the URL bar. I'm talking about GTranslate, a book which deals with the instant translation of all the content that is on a page; and an example you can see it by clicking on the flags in the right column, at the top of this site. In this case, the library is integrated in a a WordPress plugin (the motor that “turn” this blog), but you can use it with any website, even with static HTML pages. (more…)
In today's article we see some useful plugins for WordPress I have made my life easier in the composition of the blog. Obviously the list not describe, and omit some plugins as important as “Akismet” because they already exist by default to every WordPress installation (not because it is useful, but because its benefits are undeniable).
It is one of the plugins in my opinion the most useful ever created for WordPress. WP Super Cache speeds very visitor access pages, creates a file HTML PHP caching the page visited by reducing de facto the use of resources on the server. In this way we have a dual advantage: the user load the page faster and the server save energy. (more…)
