OpenKiosk: un browser “nato” for internet point

Years ago I became interested in creation of an internet point using an older pc and a any linux distribution. On that occasion I used Opera, a free browser (the open source) that integrated and integrates still one of the best ways “kiosk“.

Since then it's been almost three years, Opera has evolved and continues to integrate the kiosk mode, but steadily growing new projects open source they make their way.

Cambiare lingua a Firefox

With the latest update from Mozilla, my fox computer (or should I say “my Panda rosso“) is back to talk in inglese. I do not know why this happened, is probable that the langpack have not been included in the updates released by Canonical, the fact is that for Italian return passages are few, Simple and (I hope) clear.

He was born BlueGriffon, an HTML editor based on the rendering engine of Firefox

Not so long ago themselves parlava of KompoZer: an HTML editor created by the code of abandoned NCE, who was born in the Code of abandoned Mozilla Composer and Netscape Gold. The best HTML editor for non-commercial Linux

Anyone who has ever tried to create piagne HTML with Linux you will certainly clashed with the lack of WYSIWYG software developed ad hoc for our favorite operating system. Fortunately, today this “gap” is filled only in part due to the development of some open source programs that attempt to compensate for the lack of development in Dreamweaver (or still commercial alternatives) su piattaforma Linux, but in many ways we are still far from having reached the usability of Dreamweaver or similar.

Chi usa GNU/Linux knows, the Firefox features for all operating systems are the same, but sometimes we find move, the renamed. One of these functions is evidenzeare whole URL of a site with a click anziché due. It may seem trivial, but when you often use both GNU/Linux that Windows this difference creates confusion, and I wonder why this feature might not be at least Unified for both operating systems.

Some extensions for Firefox that do not keep to wanting more

Firefox is a browser-derived Mozilla, the manufacturer of the American Mozilla suite (whose last update was on 2006). The suite included a browser, a program for e-mail (from which it is derived Thunderbird), a chat client for IRC channels, a newsreader, a’editor html WYSIWYG. The old project was divided into several parts, and (aside from SeaMonkey, l’attuale suite completa) born Firefox for web and Thunderbird per the email.
